PLAYING EXPERIENCE:
I have played soccer my entire life, starting with my hometown club Augusto Durand in Lima Peru at the age of 5 years old all the way to 20 years old. I was also part of my High School team from 1993 – 1995 and later in college I was part of soccer team representing the faculty of Civil Engineering.

FAVORITE SOCCER MEMORY:
When I was a kid, I constantly bugged my dad to go to the stadium. My dad didn't like it, but he made a promise and said, 'If Peru goes to the World Cup, we will sell the car and go wherever it is.' So, every year, I waited for Peru to qualify. Unfortunately, my dad passed away, but to keep his promise, I made the same one to my son. And 36 years later, on June 21st, my family and I were at the Ekaterinburg Stadium watching Peru in the World Cup again.

OFF THE FIELD:
Outside soccer, engineering is my life:

  • B.S. Civil Engineering (UNI - Peru)

  • M.S. Structural and Earthquake Engineering (SFSU - USA)

  • Master in Business Administration (SFSU - USA)

I was part of the team that design the DOHA International airport, which was essentially build taking into consideration the Qatar World Cup as a deadline. If you go there and find a gigantic yellow Teddy bear I design that area where you are standing on.
