EAFC Player Commits to Concordia Univresity-Wisconsin: A Journey of Faith, Perseverance, and Passion

Eastshore Alliance FC is thrilled to announce that Koffy’e Chappel, a standout athlete and leader on and off the pitch, has officially committed to playing college soccer at Concordia University-Wisconsin. A senior at Bishop O’Dowd High School, Koffy’e’s journey to the collegiate level reflects her dedication, resilience, and unwavering trust in her faith.

From Playground to Pitch

Koffy’e’s soccer story began in the most humble of settings—watching older boys play soccer on the grass fields at her elementary school. “I had grown up playing on the monkey bars, tag, and house with the other girls my age, but watching the boys play soccer sparked something new and exciting for me,” she recalled. That curiosity soon blossomed into a passion, propelling her to not only compete but also excel at the game.

The Road to College Soccer

The path to committing to Concordia University-Wisconsin wasn’t without its challenges. Koffy’e describes the recruiting process as both “discouraging” and “strengthening,” a time that taught her to grow in understanding herself as an athlete and as a person. Her journey was built on persistence, reaching out to coaches, showcasing her skills, and, ultimately, finding the right fit.

“The biggest challenge I faced during the recruitment process was trusting Christ that I would get looked at and be able to play at the collegiate level,” Koffy’e shared. Despite moments of doubt, she persevered, leaning into her faith during times of uncertainty.

The decision to attend Concordia University-Wisconsin became clear after her visit to the campus. A conversation with her coach following the trip confirmed what her heart already knew. “I realized that this school was a prayer answered, and the right fit for me,” she said.

Influential Figures and Valuable Lessons

Throughout her soccer journey, Coach John played a pivotal role in Koffy’e’s development, offering guidance and wisdom about what it takes to succeed as a collegiate athlete. “Coach John broadened my perspective on schools and divisions that aligned with my goals, helping me see opportunities beyond my initial dreams,” she explained.

Her experiences with Eastshore Alliance FC and Bishop O’Dowd High School instilled in her confidence, resilience, and a desire to continuously improve. “I’ve been through many ups and downs, but I’ve always walked away with either a surge of confidence or a desire for more, which has propelled me as an athlete.”

Preparing for the Next Chapter

As Koffy’e transitions to the collegiate level, she is eager to embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead. Her goals include building a steady balance between academics and athletics, growing stronger in her faith, and continuing to develop her skills on the field.

Off the pitch, Koffy’e plans to pursue a degree in computer science, blending her academic ambitions with her athletic career. Her advice for younger players hoping to follow in her footsteps? “Expand your options. Don’t limit yourself to just one or two colleges. Broaden your view and trust the process.”

Looking Ahead

Koffy’e’s story is one of persistence, faith, and love for the game of soccer. As she embarks on her collegiate career at Concordia University-Wisconsin, she carries with her the lessons learned through years of hard work and dedication.

“I’m most looking forward to being part of a wonderful team, representing a growing soccer legacy, and developing both as an athlete and as an individual,” she said.

Eastshore Alliance FC congratulates Koffy’e on this incredible achievement and looks forward to watching her continue to shine at the next level.
