Eastshore Alliance FC Teams Shine at DPL Western Regional in Arizona

Eastshore Alliance FC’s teams had a remarkable showing at the DPL Western Regional tournament in Tucson, Arizona, held November 14-17. Competing against top clubs from across the region, the 2009G APX and 2008G APX teams went undefeated, while the 2007G APX team showcased their skill and resilience in a highly competitive group.

2009G APX Goes Undefeated
The 2009G APX team dominated their group with an undefeated record, starting with a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Texas-based 956 United, followed by a narrow 1-0 victory over Phoenix Premier, and capped off with a commanding 4-0 win over Empire SC. With seven points, they clinched the top spot in their group. Coach Omar reflected on the team’s success:

Joining DPL has given the girls an opportunity to showcase themselves as individuals and as a team. Going to Arizona allowed us to show the rest of the teams around the country what Eastshore Alliance is all about! We’re not just a team but a big family.

The team’s journey wasn’t without challenges. Against 956 United, Eastshore dominated possession but struggled to convert opportunities, eventually conceding twice on counters. Despite this setback, the girls showed their resilience, controlling the second half and equalizing early on.

Their final match against Empire SC demonstrated their dominance, as they controlled 90% of the possession and rarely allowed their opponents past midfield. Although the scoreline read 4-0, Coach Omar noted the team could have scored even more if not for some missed opportunities.

2008G APX: A Perfect Run
The 2008G APX team showcased their firepower and cohesion, winning all three of their matches. They defeated Albion SC 3-0, Capital City SC 3-1, and SoCal Elite FC 8-2, securing first place in their group with nine points. Coach John praised the team’s chemistry and attacking prowess:

The offense clicked in every game. It was a fantastic way to end the season, with the front-line players gelling exceptionally well together.

The standout match was their 8-2 victory over SoCal Elite FC, where Eastshore took control early, scoring twice in the opening minutes. Despite conceding a stunning scissor-kick goal—a youth-level highlight—Eastshore maintained their dominance, finishing the first half 5-1 and adding three more goals in the second.

Their 3-1 win against Capital City SC, ranked #4 in Texas, was a testament to the team’s resilience. After conceding an early free kick, they responded with two first-half goals and sealed the win with a third in the closing minutes.

2007G APX: Second Place Finish with College Interest
The 2007G APX team demonstrated grit and determination, finishing second in their group with two wins and a loss. They began with a 1-0 victory over NM Rapids SC, followed by a 4-2 loss to FRAM SC, and closed out with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Inland Surf. Coach John highlighted the team’s physical and mental toughness, especially in their match against Inland Surf:

They were a tough, physical team, with multiple hard tackles that injured one of our players. But we stayed composed and secured the win with a great goal off a corner kick.

A major highlight for the 2007G APX team was the attention from college scouts. Three coaches attended their matches, expressing interest in five players and engaging directly with the athletes to exchange information. This recognition underscores the caliber of talent within the Eastshore Alliance FC program.

A Weekend of Success and Growth
Eastshore Alliance FC’s teams made a statement at the DPL Western Regional, showcasing their skill, teamwork, and resilience on a regional stage. Whether it was dominating possession, scoring spectacular goals, or impressing college coaches, the teams represented Eastshore Alliance FC with pride and determination.
