Davis Legacy College Showcase: A Test of Resilience and Skill

EAFC's 2011B Navy team faced a challenging set of matches at the Davis Legacy College Showcase. Kicking off the tournament with a 3-1 loss to Sacramento United, followed by a tough 5-1 defeat to Santa Clara Sporting, the team displayed remarkable resilience in their final group stage match. With a decisive 5-1 victory over Ajax United, the boys managed to advance to the quarter-finals. Despite their spirited effort, they were ultimately defeated 3-1 by Lamorinda SC. Coach Pablo praised his team's perseverance, stating, "We played many MLS Next and ECNL teams. We were challenged on Saturday, losing both games, but we responded well this morning by winning 5-1, beating Ajax ECNL. We needed to win by four and another team to lose, which checked off all the boxes and allowed us to advance."

The 2010B APX team entered the tournament with a clear goal: make it out of the group stage. They did so in spectacular fashion, starting with an 8-2 win over Woodland SC, followed by a 6-1 victory against Roseville SC, and a hard-fought 2-1 win over Granite Bay FC. In the quarter-finals, they faced the tournament hosts, Davis Legacy, and narrowly lost 2-1. Coach Niall was impressed with his team's performance and is looking forward to a promising season ahead.

The 2008B APX team also made a significant impact at the Davis Legacy College Showcase. After a narrow 1-0 loss to Ballistic United, they bounced back with consecutive 1-0 victories against Vacaville United and AC Marin, securing their spot in the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, they triumphed over Elk Grove United with a 3-1 victory. Coach Omar expressed his anticipation for the finals, saying, "We will be playing against the only team that beat us in the group stage 1-0. It’s been a long tournament, so hopefully, the boys have something left in the tank. Let’s go EAFC!!" Despite their best efforts, they lost the final 1-0 in a rematch against Ballistic United.

Solano Surf Classic: A Blend of Strategy and Determination

The 2012B Navy team competed in the Solano Surf Classic, showcasing their adaptability and skill. They began with a 2-1 loss to Napa United but quickly rebounded with a commanding 6-1 victory over Woodland SC. In their final group stage match, they secured a 2-1 win against Bay Area Surf, earning a spot in the championship game. Unfortunately, they were defeated 2-0 by Bay Area Surf in the final. Coach Mason highlighted the team's versatility and the standout performance of Niara from the 2012G Navy team, who played exceptionally well with the boys. "Overall a really great experience - we had some guest players, and it was cool to see Niara from 2012G Navy come and hold her own with the boys. Shout out to Coach Sam for developing her."

Eastshore Alliance FC's teams demonstrated skill, resilience, and determination across both tournaments. With strong performances and valuable experiences gained, the club is looking forward to a promising season ahead. This weekend's results underscore the strength of Bay Area youth soccer, and EAFC's commitment to fostering competitive soccer talent in the Berkeley, El Cerrito, Albany, Richmond, and San Pablo soccer communities.
